Who has the most Premier League points in 2006?

I’ve already asked a similar question. What are the points for teams in the English Premier League for the calender year of 2006? Not the league as it stands now or for a season, but from January to December 2006. I know United lead, followed by Chelsea and probably Arsenal. Anyone know what the total points for these teams were during 2006 or where I can find out?

VERY interesting question, who has the most points in 2006
Well, I was actually so interested, and not being able to find the answer anywhere obvious on the web, decided to calculate it

We take the current table as of today:
      P PTS
      1 Man Utd 20 50
      2 Chelsea 20 46
      3 Arsenal 20 36
      6 Liverpool2034
      7 Tottenham2031

Then we take the league table at the end of last season:
      1 ChelseaP3891
      2 Man UtdP3883
      3 Liverpoolp3882
      4 Arsenalp3867
      5 TottenhamP3865

And then we deduct their respective points from the league table on 31 December 2005, as per http://stats.football365.com/2006/ENG/PR/todec.html

      1 ChelseaP2055
      2 Man utdP2044
      3 Liverpoolp1840
      4 TottenhamP2037
      6 ArsenalP1933

Thus ending with a Jan 2006 – Dec 2006 top of the table of:

      1 Chelsea86
      2 Man utd85
      3 Liverpool76
      4 Arsenal70
      5 Tottenham59

Yes, maybe some of the lesser teams came close, but I’m not gonna try and calculate the entire prem league table

Can a person from england get a loan to study in the United States from the US government?

My friend from England wants to study in America, but he says England will not give him a loan for schooling. Would the United States give him a loan to study?

    • Paul G 5:47 am on March 10, 2010 Permalink

No, you can’t receive federal student aid. See the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) requirements below. (#1 below)

      But there are other options.
      1) Many schools will co-sign on private loans so that you can get a student loan from a private funder. (For example see #2 below)
      2) There are also scholarships such as the Fullbright program but that is pretty competitive. (#3 below)

    • slayer maniac 5:47 am on March 10, 2010 Permalink

      nope.

    • wayfaroutthere 5:47 am on March 10, 2010 Permalink

There probably will be some hassles, but he could probably find the money. He should call the financial aid office of the university he wants to attend. They could give him a good idea of what is available. (I think he would have to go through a bank rather than the government, but student loans are at low interest even when you get them from a bank.)

    • stevethebeeve 5:47 am on March 10, 2010 Permalink

There are a lot of ways to get scholarships to study in the US. First, check out the website of the school that he is planning to attend. Most colleges and universities have scholarships designed specifically for international students. The US government will probably not give him any money but they can help him finance with a student loan. You can also check with websites like fastweb.com that list scholarships according to your needs. But I’d say check with the institution that he’s wanting to attend…

Sure – just sign up with the US military – they’ll take care of everything.

    • youkillme 5:47 am on March 10, 2010 Permalink

      Why not.
Shoot. If he pretends to be the last survivor of some ancient biblical society, the United States will just tax its citizens a little more and build him a university that would make Oxford pale in comparison.

Why is this the case with the United States and the United Kingdom?

Why would United Kingdom except this in a diplomatic friendly manner and not file criminal charges in this case?

A UK born child is illegally retained/taken to the United States under UK law and is not returned, because US court has desisted not to return child to the UK.

But why would a US court file criminal charges when a US born child is illegally retained/taken under US law to the United Kingdom, and is not returned, because a UK court has desisted not to return child to the United States. The US department of State say that filing criminal charges are counter productive, because the British parent will never return to the United States ever if you do this.

    • JUNAID187 5:47 am on March 10, 2010 Permalink

i agree nasri players better in the middle than fabregas by the looks of things,
also we should get £55m for fabrega or a part exchange for somebody like ibrahimovic,
but next season the formation will be 4-4-2 with 2 centre mids (probs nasri and fabregas on first team)
      van persie and chamakh upfront
      arshavin and walcott for wide
      denilson,eboue, diaby defencive mid
all we need is a good keeper (hopefully hugo lloris in the summer)
and we have a complete world dominating team again.

    • dfunkt 5:47 am on March 10, 2010 Permalink

a brilliant goal! beating 3 defenders off the dribble in the box, and finishing from such an acute angle under great duress…pure class and consummate skill.

      Requiem for a Dream
      Stand Tall & No Fear
      Que es la Vida
Best of You & The Pretender
      Liberty Shield & Electric Romeo
      Let’s Get It Started
      You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid
      Last Train Home & Rooftops
      Radio Protector
I’ll credit in my video to who ever gives me the best song. Thanks!

unfortunetly we are more balanced without fabregas. diaby, denilson, nasri all are ineffective with fabregas. as great as he is if we get $50 mil we should sell him and get a striker and another midfielder.

Let’s not say that,…I don’t think the UN would look upon Britain too kindly if it did that
not to mention, the Argentines are much more well equipped and well trained than in the 1980s.

Anyways, who needs another war? Friendship between Argentina and Britain!

    • justicia55 5:47 am on March 10, 2010 Permalink

Descuida.

    • justicia55 5:47 am on March 10, 2010 Permalink

      @Justica55
Argentina tried once to occupy the Falkland Islands, they lost…actually they got spanked but that’s beyond the point.
Unless your country is willing to fight again, don’t carry it on further.
Anyways, most of the occupants on the “Malvinas” as you call them are of British descent….what is your country going to do to them? Hmmm?

yeah my comment was idiotic, and i withdraw my remark. glad to see you want england to win the world cup because if england hadnt qualified and ireland had i can guarantee most english people would have wanted to ireland wo win, i just wish the majority of irish people were not so determined for england to lose particulary when most of them support english clubs.

      @edders6

Do not suffer for nothing! (joke)
But it’s hard to believe how you are treating the case.
Here, Dunga is tidying up the farce of the last World Cup. Holidays, easy women and lack of commitment to the group = off

@Kelbert88 It should be an honor to play for your nation, but not when you have to be in the same team with your woman’s lover…

    • bigjeffstar 12:00 am on March 10, 2010 Permalink

let’s be honest here.. if wayne bridge pulled out of the world cup due to injury…who would care?… but because it’s due to john terry having a fling with a woman he wasn’t even seeing at the time suddenly it’s a massive blow for england.. wtf??

    • ashbash986 12:00 am on March 10, 2010 Permalink

      No.. really?
